This Aircraft is a Part of Aviation History: This aircraft was purchased new in 1952 by pioneer aviatrix Colonel Betty Wood McNabb, the first woman to attend the U.S. Air Force War College and a decorated member of both the Civil Air Patrol & the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary. She was the 8th woman in the Western Hemispher to break the sound barrier. She was a former president and executive committee member for the Ninety-Nines and was inducted into the National Aerospeace Hall of Honor in April of 1977.
